Yes the Slade is excellent at teaching a thorough and analytical approach to observational drawing but they didn&#39;t encourage imitating a particular style of drawing or stylized mark making...its all about looking and understanding.<br /> For example; Uglow was good at making us concentrate on the the sense of gravity or the weight of the figure with the feet convincingly placed firmly on the floor.
