Memories come in pictures. Hard to unfurl into words. I remember you said why can't an art lesson be making daisy chains in the garden. After all they are learning a skill and its good for coordination and its like a Rossetti or Andy Goldsworthy. So you created a lesson there and then in transferring everything from a dark classroom to a sun drenched slab of green grass who's daisies had escaped the groundsman's blade for once. You felt they needed linking in the hands of the children who were taking nothing but their own minds, hands and accepting enthusiasm out there with them. We were all refreshed by your whimsical decision. Our minds were glowing with the bright yellow daisy centres and filled with the gold of the sun. Clear in my mind now years later are the white flashes of petals the green and the children absorbed, resting sitting and kneeling. Your voice too with a hint of cheeky triumph- a little giggle mingled with the calm - voiced by the un classed young.

"We are the village green preservation society" ..kinks song.

Time is fleeting its so hard to hold whats important and keep close enough to relate to it.

Bye for now. Finn.

Tonight I ran across a video of this wonderful crazy painter that carried a huge canvas outside and painted on the ground. I followed the link to her website and then here to her blog only to discover she has passed away a few years ago. So tragic and sad. I don't know if anyone close to her will see this but I wanted to pass my sympathies along to them. She is painting beautiful paintings in heaven now.
