I'm on Tresco, in the Isles of Scilly this week - painting hard.

The photograph above shows my set-up as I paint a view looking northwards towards Cromwells Castle. Below is the painting itself.

This will stay on the island until it is dry. I'm planning to come back later in the year.

Hi Harriet, stumbled across you blog here whilst surfing. I live in similar scenery here in west Wales ( if a little ..er.. damper )... but find if I go out painting I just end up looking at everything getting very little done. That could be just me though I suspect. Love your colours and free style. Keep creating, Chris

I support Chris Chalk's comments Harriet. Just love the use of colour and expressive forms. When might some of this work be for sale?

Thanks for all your lovely comments!
I am looking forward to painting outside some more but it will have to wait a bit as I have a few other painting projects to concentrate on first.

@ Johnny. I will see you soon so we can chat then.

Hello Harriet,

What a delightful seascape. It makes me pine for the scent of the sea; landlocked as I am in the West Midlands. As if that wasn't bad enough the nearest decent river is the Severn, 30 miles away! It doesn't stop me going though of course.

You have a great touch. Keep it going. Look forward to seeing more of your work.

Regards and Happy Painting.
